The woman finished summoning an airlift as the man removed the stun-baton from and packed up the remains of the cortex screen into its case.
"What do you make of her?" The man asked casually.
"Clearly she's gone native. The imprinting may have gone too deep. If we can recover her we'll need to resort to more drastic measures to 'wake' her." She responded.
"And Heru, here on the same planet. What are the odds of that?" He adds.
"We have something of a perfect storm. 1. Heru is the last person seen with Jones before her execution style murder. 2. Duke escapes and makes her way to Paquin. 3. Heru is on the ship that intercepts the message from Camp Gamma White. 4. That ship arrives on Paquin is owned by the daughter of Ling. 5. And then she answers our wave. 6. And she appears to have switched sides." The woman seems to mentally check these off a list.

"You think Heru is with the resistance?" He asks.
"Can you think of a better explanation?" She responds. "Consider this, Duke escaped and came here, Heru's ship heads here rather suddenly from Angel, way out on the Rim. Our woman is on that ship after going silent for so long. We know Heru was involved in some kind of intelligence, and wrote sympathetically about the myths of the independents. Add to that this Ling woman. The facts speak for themselves."

"They are not likely to talk." He adds.

"Everyone talks.... eventually." She finishes.
