In the dark days following Nazi Germany’s conquest of France, a hero rose up to battle the occupying forces. Henri Martel was a fencing instructor in Paris when the city fell. Initially he served in the French Resistance as an intelligence officer. After the debut of Operation: Alpha, he was inspired to put on a costume and make use of the fencing skills to battle Nazi oppression. After the war Henri served as an instructor in the reformed French military. He died of a heart attack in 1986.
