Thirty years ago the Nocturne emerged from their solitude and began a
campaign of conquest. It took them over a decade but they carved an
empire that took up much of western Aeryn. The empire is a political
one more than a cultural one. The Nocturne tend to believe that other
races aren't worthy of their culture. While each town and city has a
military presence they are allowed to follow their own customs and
cultural practices. There is some unrest at the moment. Non-Nocturne
have been taxed more heavily than Nocturne in order to pay for post-
war reconstruction.
