While over a hundred souls call Victoria Falls home, there are a few folk who stand out. Especially to the adventurin' sort who might just be passing through for a day.

Doc Johnson

Shamus Johnson's was born and raised in this community. He isn't technically a doctor. He didn't get any fancy school learning in the subject. Instead, he learned at the knee of the previous town doctor, Doc Esteban Heusos. When Doc Heusos died, Shamus took over his house and his practice. He's been the town doctor ever since. Doc Johnson's a devout Buddhist, though you wouldn't know it to talk to him. His older brother is Hooper, the man who runs the local general store. He's a widower. His wife died of complications related to Bowden's Malady. He and his wife, Irene, had one son, Jack "Heat" Johnson. Unfortunately, Heat died recently in an incident off-world. Despite the tragedy the Doc has seen he remains an irritable old man with a good heart. He'll take a baked pie in payment as soon as he would take coin and he'll always try to do right by folk. Some folk do worry about what'll come of the town should Doc Johnson retire. If the Corone Mining Consortium were forced to bring in a real doctor health care might become a much more expensive proposition.

Sheriff Roy Chan

Sheriff Chan was actually born on Ezra. He was a deputy there, content to wait until the local sheriff there retired. Then the war came. Roy's experience in law enforcement served him in good stead and he was quickly made a non-commissioned officer. His men valued his lead from the front style and he kept them alive through all kinds of da shiong la se la ch'wohn tian. After the war, he tried to take up where he left off, but he found that dealing with Adelei Niska was too much for him to stomach. He accepted a position as sheriff of Victoria Falls. He's been doing that for four years now.

Clyde Anderson

Clyde was born in Victoria Falls to a "massage therapist" at the Six Star Hotel. She never did figure out who his daddy was. He grew up at the hotel, helping out and doing odd chores to earn his keep. He quickly developed a dream, though. He wanted to be an entertainer out among the stars. He learned to sing. He learned guitar. Then he found himself passage off-world. Clyde suffered, though, from not having quite-enough-talent to make it. In the end, he earned a bit of coin but no real success. He returned to Victoria Falls and used his money to buy A Touch of Paquin, the local dance hall. There, he can perform all he wants, and he can occasionally indulge in the other skills he picked up out there in the black: playing poker and drawing a gun real quick. More than anything else, Clyde wants people to know who he is and respect him. He can be almost pathetic as he tries to hold onto that dream.
